Upright Theatre Co. is holding auditions for its upcoming production of Misery. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 7pm at Upright Theatre Company in Euless, TX. Callbacks (if needed) will be on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 7pm.
To audition, performers are asked to fill out an online audition form and make an appointment using the links provided at the bottom of this page. Artists should bring their headshot and resume, along with a conflict calendar that can be found below.
WHAT TO PREPARE:
Auditioners will also be asked to perform a cold reading of the provided audition sides at the audition with other actors in the audition room. Audition sides do not need to be memorized.

ABOUT THE SHOW:
Misery follows successful romance novelist Paul Sheldon, who is rescued from a car crash by his “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes, and wakes up captive in her secluded home. While Paul is convalescing, Annie reads his latest book and becomes enraged when she discovers the author has killed off her favorite character, Misery Chastain. Annie forces Paul to write a new Misery novel, and he quickly realizes Annie has no intention of letting him go anywhere. The irate Annie has Paul writing as if his life depends on it, and it does.

LOCATION: Upright Theatre Company, 2501 N Main St, Ste 210, Euless, TX 76039
REHEARSALS: Rehearsals will be held at Upright Theatre Co. beginning Monday, August 24, 2026 and will generally be four nights per week from 7-10pm, Monday through Thursday, and Saturday afternoons. Not all actors will be called for every rehearsal.
PERFORMANCE DATES: October 2-25, 2026, on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, and Sundays at 3pm.
