Upright Theatre Co. is holding auditions for its upcoming production of The Last Five Years by Jason Robert Brown. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 6:30-8:30pm at Upright Theatre Company’s studio space in Euless, TX. Callbacks (if needed) will be on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 5pm. To audition, artists are asked to fill out an online audition form and make an appointment using the links provided at the bottom of this page. Please prepare 32 bars of a song of your choice in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided, so please have sheet music marked and ready. Artists should bring their headshot and resume, along with a conflict calendar that can be found below.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
An emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years, the show's unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically; the two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show.
UPRIGHT RATING: MA (Mature Audiences)

Character arcs from an ambitious, fresh-faced girl in a new relationship to a woman stunned by a betrayal and a divorce that she is only beginning to understand.

Jamie Wellerstein
Character arcs from an ambitious guy on a promising first date with a dazzling career to someone who is blinded by success and ego. He is very lovable, yet makes unintentional choices that sabotages his own happiness.
Gender: Male | Age: 25 to 35 | Vocal range: A2-Bb4
AUDITION INFORMATION
AUDITION DATES: July 20, 2021 from 6:30-8:30pm. Callbacks (if needed) will be July 22, 2021 at 5pm. Audition forms, appointment links and conflict calendars can be found using the links at the bottom of this page.
LOCATION: Upright Theatre Company’s Studio on Main, 2501 N Main St, Ste 210, Euless, TX 76039
REHEARSALS: Rehearsals will begin August 2, 2021 and will generally be 3-4 nights per week from 6:30-10pm, Monday through Thursday with some Saturday afternoons. Not all actors will be called for every rehearsal. Masks will be required for all in-person rehearsals.
PERFORMANCE DATES: September 3-18, 2021 on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30pm
